TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANT PROCEDURES

gurgaondentalcare.com

At Grace Dental Clinic, we offer a few types of dental implant procedures, and depending on your dental condition, our dental specialist(s) will recommend the most appropriate procedure for you.

Dental Implant Treatment

  • Dental implant treatment is a predictable way to replace missing teeth. It is suitable for most people and has a success rate of about 95% to 99%. This procedure can be used to replace a single missing tooth, or multiple missing teeth.
  • On the day of the surgery where the implant(s) is inserted, temporary tooth/teeth will also be fabricated and attached – there is no need to worry about being toothless.
  • You should be able to eat and drink with your temporary teeth; bearing in mind to avoid eating hard foods like nuts or going on a crab feast.
  • 3 to 6 months later, once the bond is formed between the implant(s) and your bone (osseointegration), new permanent teeth can be firmly attached to the implant(s). For certain cases, this can be reduced to one week.
  • Your replacement tooth/teeth will look, feel and function like your natural teeth. You can look forward to clearer speech and the ability to chew normally.

  • NobelGuide Teeth-in-an-Hour Procedure
  • The NobelGuide Teeth-in-an-Hour is a teeth replacement procedure most suitable for patients with multiple missing teeth, or who are completely edentulous (totally no teeth) in either jaw.
  • During the initial consultation, a CT scan will be done. Using the scan and proprietary technology by Nobel Biocare, our dental specialists will be able to plan in advance on the exact location to place the dental implants and a three-dimensional (3D) virtual model of the jaw will be recreated digitally.
  • Upon confirmation of your suitability, measurement of the teeth can be done. The information will be transmitted to a laboratory in Sweden where the surgical guide and implant-supported teeth will be fabricated.
  • Approximately two weeks after the initial consultation, your implant supported teeth would be ready and a key-hole surgery can be conducted to place the teeth. This procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. The dental implant(s) and replacement teeth (implant crowns) will be placed within an hour and no sutures (stitches) are required. Typically, patients will not experience swelling or discomfort.

All-on-4 Dental Implant Procedure

  • The All-on-4 dental implant procedure by Nobel Biocare enables those who are missing a full jaw of teeth (fully edentulous) to have their teeth replaced on the same day, using only four implants to support the full set of prosthesis (fixed bridge permanent teeth).
  • Functions like talking, eating and chewing will be restored.
  • The All-on-4 implant procedure is also suitable for those with less bone on their upper jaw, as the dental implants are placed at an angled position to optimize the available space on the upper jaw, increasing bone-to-implant contact and reducing the need for bone grafting.
